It was a great night of fabulous food, music and fun to support at-risk your and our military veterans.

The Indian Summer BBQ Bash, presented by Greater Newington Charitable Society,  had:
  • Fantastic barbecue buffet with chicken, ribs and pulled pork and plenty of it! Catered by Up in Smoke BBQ
  • Music by Jamie's Junk Show Band
  • We auctioned off tickets to a New England Patriots game at Foxboro Stadium and two pair of tickets to 2019 season Sox/Yankees games!
  • Wine tasting
  • Fabulous teacup raffle prizes and wine pull, too!
  • Attendees got to meet Miss Tolland County, Gina Salvatore

Connecticut Insurance Exchange Supports Newington Veteran Firefighter’s Association Golf Tournament as Platinum Sponsor for Sixth Year

For the sixth consecutive year, Connecticut Insurance Exchange welcomes players to the annual Newington Veteran Firefighter’s Association (NVFA) Golf Tournament as its Platinum Sponsor. Golfers were also treated to bagels, coffee and incredibly delicious mini cupcakes from their commercial client "Taste by Spellbound"  — a real hit with the attendees — compliments of the insurance agency. One golfer even said, "Wow! This cupcake has a fresh raspberry on top. Does this me I can consider this cupcake as my fruit for the morning?"

Connecticut Insurance Exchange donated a portable air compressor gun as the shotgun start prize, which was won by Kyle Roberts as well as the evening's main raffle prize — a 55" TV — won by Matt Nadeau.

Connecticut Insurance Exchange President Ronald Tregoning commented,  "We have a strong bond  with our Newington veteran fire fighters. They've done a lot for the community. This is our way of showing our appreciation for them, ” explains Ronald Tregoning, President of Connecticut Insurance Exchange.

Connecticut Insurance Exchange President Receives Recognition from Newington Volunteer Firefighter Association

As a thank-you for years of support to the Newington Volunteer Firefighter Association (NVFA), Ron Tregoning, President of Connecticut Insurance Exchange, was named its honorary member at their annual dinner in May. "We  deeply appreciate  our volunteer firefighters and their labor of love and dedication they selflessly give to our town," explains Tregoning. "I was very moved and humbled that they would honor me in this way. They are the one's doing the real work. I'm just glad our agency can help."

Connecticut Insurance Exchange is the NVFA's annual Golf Tournament Platinum Sponsor for the sixth year. The tournament will be held on June 15th, which raises funds to minimize the costs associated to run events supporting Newington firefighter veterans.

Connecticut Insurance Exchange Sponsors "National Night Out"

The Newington Police Department held its first-ever National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mill Pond Park, in conjunction with Newington Parks and Recreation. 

As one of 16,000 American communities to host a National Night Out event this year, the town is working on its police-community partnership.

Connecticut Insurance Exchange “Sweetens” the Newington Veteran Firefighter’s Association Golf Tournament

Each year for the past five years, Connecticut Insurance Exchange, Ltd. (CIE) welcomes players to the annual Newington Veteran Firefighter’s Association (NVFA) Golf Tournament with delicious mini donuts and coffee, and provides major raffle prizes.  “As a Newington business for over 40 years, we wanted to express our appreciation towards Newington veteran fire fighters and acknowledge their many years of service and dedication to our town. So, when they approached me to become a Platinum Sponsor four years ago, the answer was easy,” explains Ronald Tregoning, President of Connecticut Insurance Exchange. He went on to say, “This year’s major raffle prize was a giant 55-inch LED-HD flat-screen TV and a Galaxy tablet.”
    The NVFA tournament raises funds to minimize the costs associated to run events supporting Newington firefighter veterans.

Your donation will help us purchase a track chair for paraplegic soldiers. For every ornament purchased, Connecticut Insurance Exchange will give a matching donation to The Independence Fund. 2016 ornaments are available for $5 at the following locations until December 23rd:

Connecticut Insurance Exchange “Blue Jean Fridays” Fund Celebrates Our Officers in Blue
 
    In the spirit of thanksgiving, the staff at Connecticut Insurance Exchange gave each Newington Police officer a breakfast gift card. Funds for the gift cards came from Connecticut Insurance Exchange’s “Blue Jean Fridays Fund,” which began in 2006 as a fundraiser for charities. Office Manager Jackie Martin explains, “As part of dress-down Fridays, any employee who chooses to wear blue jeans that day is encouraged to make a contribution to the fund. When it reaches a certain amount, the staff gets together to decide on a worthy cause.”
    Connecticut Insurance Exchange’s Blue Jean Fridays Fund has given over $8,700 to local and national charities, including Make a Wish Foundation, local little leagues, Hartford City Mission, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, The Independence Fund, Food Share Walk Against Hunger, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, The Little Guild of Saint Francis, Hole in the Wall Gang and many, many more.
    Over its 40-year history, Connecticut Insurance Exchange has given more than $250,000 to charity. “As an insurance agency, we are in the business of helping people become whole again. Charity is a natural extension of our philosophy,” added Melanie Tregoning, Vice President of Connecticut Insurance Exchange. “It is our honor to give back to the community.”

​Connecticut Insurance Exchange and Elaine’s Restaurant Honor Local Law Enforcement
 
    Connecticut Insurance Exchange recently partnered with Elaine’s Restaurant to provide the men and women of the Newington Police Department with a complimentary lunch. Officers were provided with a free lunch voucher to Elaine’s Restaurant on the Berlin Turnpike, which they we able to redeem from mid August to mid September. “It was our way of saying ‘thank you’ for all they do to protect our community. These dedicated individuals keep our community safe and secure day in and day out. It’s their job. We just wanted them to know their efforts are appreciated,” said Ron Tregoning of Connecticut Insurance Exchange and Dino Karabetsos of Elaine’s Restaurant added, “A lot of officers took us up on our offer. We’re happy we could give back to the community.”
